Community Involvement

Giving back to the communities we serve is a priority for Jay and Carolyn Rooney, and a priority for every one of our agents. There are hundreds of wonderful charities and non-profit organizations in South Boston and Milton that do amazing work and we set aside a portion of our commission dollars each year to help these organizations achieve their goals of helping people. South Boston Street Festival

GKR Residential, Inc. was proud to support the 10th Annual South Boston Street Festival which was held Saturday, September 19th, 2009. The daylong festival which took place on East Broadway between I Street and L Street brought the South Boston community together to enjoy samplings from over one hundred local merchants, live music and dance performances, great food and children's activities.

32nd Milton 5K and 10K Road Race

GKR Residential was a proud sponsor once again this year of the 32nd Milton 5K and 10K Road Race. The annual race is organized and run by the Milton Junior Women's Club, an organization which provides scholarships to Milton high-school seniors and grants to tax-exempt organizations that assist Milton residents or help to enrich the overall Milton community. Approximately 500 runners participated in the festivities on June 9th which included a kid's fun run, activity area with face painting and plenty of food!

Celebrate Milton

The annual Celebrate Milton event was held Saturday, October 3rd at the Collicot and Cunningham elementary schools. Celebrate Milton is a registered nonprofit made up of residents who encourage the town's diverse populations to appreciate and enjoy each other. Numerous businesses sponsor the event, which features children's activities, musical entertainment, food and more. Additionally, the groups Community builder Awards are presented during the celebration to residents who do an outstanding job of supporting its mission. GKR Residential, Inc. was once again a proud supporter of this community event.
